Our INSET day package provides a comprehensive overview of supporting autistic learners in the classroom and understanding behaviours that challenge, ideal for TA’s/LSA’s working in schools/nurseries.
What the training covers
The morning session will cover ways of supporting autistic learners in the classroom, focusing on the following topics:
- What is autism?
- Gender differences
- Respectful terminology
- Communication
- Sensory processing
- Safeguarding, health and wellbeing
In the afternoon our attention will turn to looking at behaviour, specifically from a behaviour analytic perspective. With topics including:
- What is behaviour analysis?
- The ABC’s of behaviour
- Behaviours that challenge
- Proactive, active and reactive strategies
- Behaviour as communication
Attendees will learn through presentation/interactive sections and practical strategies with accompanying materials provided.
