“When all other departments/organisations were trying to put my son in a box, the BeyondAutism outreach team didn’t. They looked at my son as an individual. By encouraging and working with his natural abilities the team were able to build on them and help him thrive.

The team have always been very professional and practical in their approach. They have been able to adjust the ABA principles and incorporate ideas from other specialists, making sure that whatever approach was used worked best for our son.

When we first approached the outreach team other specialists had told us that our son may never talk and that his behaviour would only get worse as he got older. With the help of the outreach service our son has exceeded all expectations.

Our son attends a state funded nursery for 2.5 days per week that does not practice the ABA principles. The outreach team have been able to work with the nursery to ensure that the best elements of the different principles are used to get the best outcome for our son. 

He is now engaging with others and he is interested in what other people are doing around him. He wants to interact and has started to communicate.

The outreach programme has given us the tools to be able to help our son develop and progress with age appropriate skills that will help him now and in the future.”
