NASS Annual Conference 2016 17th October 2016 Last week a group of staff attended the National Association of Independent Schools & Non-Maintained Special Schools (NASS) Annual Conference in Manchester. On Thursday our CEO, Tracie Linehan, gave a talk alongside Chris Harrison, Director of SEND4Change. Their subject was ‘Championing specific methodology – can we get the Local Authority to like marmite?’ and the session highlighted and discussed how we should interact with our Local Authorities to achieve positive relationships and placements. On Friday it was the turn of David Anthony, our Head of Upper School, and Mikaela Green, our Senior ABA Supervisor to address the conference. They spoke about ‘Looking at assessing and reporting progress differently’ and how Rainbow School has developed assessment, monitoring and reporting using the IEP. The talks were both well received and the conference was an interesting and informative experience for those who attended.
