12th November 2021
Over the last 12 months, we have been one of Co-op’s chosen Charities of the Year. During this time, members raised a whopping £4,250 by donating whilst shopping. All funds raised will be going to our Early Years’ service: a specialist provision for children under 5 working closely with families at a formative time in their child’s life. Thank you to every single Co-op member who contributed.
The funds raised will be critical in helping us ensure the service remains free for those who need it and families feel supported and listened to. Last year, over 50 families accessed our service.
Head of Early Years, Bernadett Rankasz, said, “We are grateful to the people who took the time to select BeyondAutism as their chosen charity from many hundreds of worthy causes. Your shopping has meant we could deliver parent workshops to families at a fundamental time in their child’s development. It has enabled us to empower those families and put together fantastic new resources like sensory story sacks that help encourage communication for children with autism.”
Thank you once again to everyone who has supported us this year. Our Early Years’ service relies completely on voluntary grants and donations to run. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so here . And remember, the smallest of gestures can generate a big impact!
More about BeyondAutism Early Years
Accessing support, tailored to individual needs, at as early an age as possible, is so important for children with communication difficulties. Children’s learning starts within the family, when they begin to develop their earliest bonds, essential social skills and emotional wellbeing.
At Early Years, parents are supported by our experienced multidisciplinary team during this crucial time, to empower them to build skills, knowledge and confidence to:
support their children in developing communication and language through play and learning essential skills that they can build upon throughout their journey in education
and to better understand and cope with their child’s behaviours that challenge.
“He has made incredible improvements and I have made some wonderful friends and it has been invaluable meeting other parents as I know I’m not alone.” Early Years’ parent.
