Course overview:
- This course provides a comprehensive understanding of autism in women and girls. It is designed for parents and professionals working with young autistic women
- The course covers a range of topics including: gender differences, masking, co-occurring conditions, the school experience and puberty. There is also advice and strategies for parents and professionals to use at school and home
- It should take you around 4 hours to complete
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand the differences between how autism can present itself in males and females
- Have explored co-occurring mental health conditions that can be more prevalent in autistic girls
- Have heard the lived school experience of autistic girls
- take away various strategies to support autistic girls, particularly around puberty and emotional wellbeing
