The Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Department is based in the Therapy Block at Ryegate Children’s Centre. A range of other services are also provided at the site including multidisciplinary assessment and management of children with special needs. The centre can offer information and advice to parents / carers of children who attend the Ryegate Centre about ADHD, Autism and other disabilities. The Centre includes a respite facility for children with complex medical needs and also an Assessment Centre, from which the child development, neurology and neurodisability outpatients are delivered, and multi-disciplinary assessments undertaken. The Resource Centre houses the dual diagnosis team for sheffield outreach, the Gait laboratory, and is also used for parents groups, playgroups etc for children with special needs. Families can also access The Child Disability Register (CDR) which is a service for children and young people with disabilities and their families in Sheffield.
