Plug And Play is a group of music leaders who specialise in using music technology and music making activities to engage young people from challenging backgrounds and circumstances, combining music technology, computers, conventional instruments and voice to provide opportunities for young people with disabilities or behavioural difficulties to perform, record, and express themselves. Regardless of age, ability or previous experience with music, Plug And Play can provide the technology and expertise to ensure an exciting and enjoyable musical experience that will improve self-confidence, improve team-working skills and give the opportunity for self-expression. Plug And Play believe that everyone has the ability to engage with music making in some way and they use adaptive music technologies, switches, beams and other interfaces to enable everyone to engage, whatever physical, emotional or social barriers they face. One of the team is specialist at working with children and young people who have difficulties in communication, including those with no speech and limited ability to indicate choices. Plug And Play can also work in different ways with those on the autistic spectrum or with high energy and limited concentration spans and are able to provide sessions of any length or duration from one-off short taster sessions to extensive accredited programmes of education, and have experience of delivering BTEC, NCFE and Arts Award qualifications in schools, colleges and pupil referral units, as well as working with Special Schools and specialist out of school providers.
