At Newnham St Peter’s C of E Primary School, all members of staff will teach and support SEND pupils in a way that shows they are valued, respected and equal members of the school. Staff understand that all teachers are teachers of pupils with SEND and all pupils have the entitlement to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum. For children without an Education, Health and Social Care plan (EHC), all pupils with SEND are taught for all/most of the week with their peers in mainstream classes by class/subject teachers and study the curriculum at the appropriate level for their ability. Pupils may sometimes be taught by a TA or teacher on an individual or small group basis. Sometimes a pupil may be taught outside of the classroom for some lessons if this is appropriate. Arrangements will be made for SEND pupils without an EHC plan on a needs basis as and when appropriate.
