Since our partnership began in 2016, Octopus Group’s Charitable Foundation, Octopus Giving, have been a fantastic supporter of BeyondAutism. From providing grants towards capital projects to volunteering at charity events, they have contributed significantly to our work.

The support they’ve given

Octopus Group have raised over £115,000 for the charity. This included a generous grant for our Tram House Appeal to redevelop our secondary school, and a grant to purchase resources to equip the classroom in our Early Years’ service pilot; funding which was essential in getting these projects off the ground.

We have also run two extremely successful abseil events at the Octopus HQ. Staff, supporters and members of the public freefall abseiled down their office block raising over £17,000 across the two events.

“Octopus’ partnership with BeyondAutism has gone from strength to strength since it began in 2016, with individuals and groups of Octopus employees volunteering for the cause, whether that’s by decorating classrooms, helping to run pub quizzes, sports days, skills sharing and much more. It’s been particularly impressive to witness BeyondAutism grow in size and quality of education during the period, by setting milestones and delivering on them time and time again. Little things make a big difference

On top of their fundraising activities, the Octopus Group are incredibly generous in supporting the charity with their time. From our annual quiz night, to sports day, to the schools’ Winter Production there is always a team of hard-working Octopus volunteers on hand to help the event run smoothly!

Since 2016 they have also offered a variety of in-kind support, including skill-sharing, graphic design and office stationery; saving the charity thousands of pounds.

“It has been a very rewarding experience being part of a such an amazing, enthusiastic, dedicated team of people who are doing a great job giving children and their parents the best possible care and life skills. It has opened my eyes on the existing problem and how a little help can really make a difference. I always look forward to the annual events!”

The impact Octopus Group have had

Our partnership with Octopus Group has been incredibly positive for BeyondAutism. The generous funding they have provided has benefited scores of families and will continue to do so for decades to come, and the additional volunteering and in-kind support has been invaluable. It’s been fantastic to see volunteers so passionate about our work that they’ve come back to help again, and in doing so they have built a real and lasting connection with the charity.

“Prior to seeing the amazing work that BeyondAutism do, I had very little understanding of how autism was catered for in society. I feel so lucky that volunteering has educated me, and allowed me lots of opportunities to get involved, you can genuinely see the difference you are making, from how appreciative the staff are, to seeing the facilities improve and upgrade over time, and amazing milestones like the opening of the Tram House school. I have been to the school and met some of the students and seen how much care goes into everything that the children do every day and hope that I can continue to be a tiny part of helping the students have better lives.”
