Ocean City Powerchair Football Club

Ocean City Powerchair Football club offers young people and adults with disabilities the chance to play a competitive sport in a sports powerchair, at a local and regional level. The sport is played in specialised sports chairs with striker bumpers. For newbies their own powerchairs can be used with a striker bumper attached, which Ocean City PFC is hoping to supply with funding. Any age can take part, male or female. Anyone with a physical disability is invited as long as they can control a powerchair safely. The club promotes independence, fun and positivity. The club is run by players of powerchair football who have played at a National and European level and a team of dedicated volunteers. Playing the game helps with social skills, teamwork and wheelchair skills. The club supports people with autism, cerebral palsy, communication impairments, Down’s syndrome, learning disabilities, mobility issues, and physical disabilities.
