SkillForce is a national education charity dedicated to helping young people flourish through motivational mentoring and proven programmes tailored to students’ needs. Drawing on their experienced team of instructors, most of whom served in the Forces, they partner with schools, academies and other education providers to improve self-esteem, raise attainment and equip young people for employment and for life. Through a combination of on and off-site provision, their inspiring role models engage young people with the school curriculum or prepare students for key transitions into secondary education and then into the world of work.
Embedded in their provision are the core values and life skills that enable young people to reach their potential whilst making a constructive contribution to society. SkillForce is particularly proud of its nationwide Prince’s Awards, supported by our Royal Patron, HRH The Duke of Cambridge KG KT, with a reputation for developing confidence and resilience as well as leadership and teamwork skills within a culture of public-mindedness and community service. Currently they don’t provide any specific services for students with special educational needs and disabiltiies (SEND); they provide our programmes to all young people. They would adjust the programme content to suit the needs of the young people they are working with. It supports people with autism, behavioural, emotional, social difficulties, hearing impairment, medical needs, moderate learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. Skillforce are one of the providers who are part of the RISE alternative provision in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
