UKYAP are committed to helping children with a diagnosis of autism and/or related developmental delays reach their full potential through providing research-based Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention (EIBI) treatment based on the principles of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis). UKYAP primarily provide early intervention (for children under 3.5 years old), however they have a lot of experience and success working with older children using treatment based on the principles of ABA. A fully staffed core programme is available to children who live within a manageable travelling distance from their London, Birmingham, and Bristol hubs.
UKYAP also offer a consultancy service for children outside of these areas meaning parents manage the programme and staff on a day-to-day basis with supervision and support from a UKYAP consultant every few weeks. UKYAP have researched the outcome of both types of provision, and this has been published in two studies (Hayward, Eikeseth, Gale & Morgan (2009), Assessing progress during treatment for young children with autism receiving intensive behavioural interventions, Autism, 13(6); Smith, Hayward, Gale, Eikeseth, & Klintwall (2019), Treatment Gains from Early and Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) are Maintained 10 Years Later, Behaviour Modification).
