We’re delighted to announce that Park House School’s brand-new kitchen is now in operation!
Work got underway in July to transform the basement space from a small teaching room and kitchen with a single oven into a large open-plan area complete with state-of-the-art kitchen facilities.
The wait has been well worth it, with the new-and-improved space boasting an abundance of hobs, ovens, and specialist equipment. This new open-plan space offers plenty of opportunities for group learning, enabling pupils to develop their independence skills, learn about food hygiene and nutrition, work on restrictive diets and develop a love of food and cooking.
Richard LeRoy, Head of Park House School, highlighted the valuable learning that will be taking place: “ We are so excited to have a kitchen space that replicates the home experience for pupils. They will be able to learn and practice truly valuable life skills that can be applied beyond the school environment. This will have an impact on a pupil’s independence throughout their life”
We can’t wait to see their progress and the creations being served up!
Of course, this refurbishment wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our supporters. We would like to thank the Trusts and Foundations, alongside individual donors, who helped us create this wonderful learning space.
Projects like this are so important to our charity as we strive to create the best possible opportunities for learners. If you would like to donate to help make more projects like this a reality, you can do so here .
